8 Cheapest Hosting For WordPress Websites In Kenya [2026]

8 Cheapest Hosting For WordPress Websites In Kenya in 2026, strap in!

If you run an online business, website hosting is the digital equivalent of what rent is for a brick-and-mortar business; it’s an overhead cost. Unlike rent, however, it’s one of those expenses that’s easy to forget about because it quietly renews in the background year after year.

That was exactly the situation we found ourselves in at Sanna Digital Marketing.

Our WordPress website was costing us $9.99 per month to host. At first, that didn’t seem unreasonable. We renewed it for four years and carried on with business as usual. But after having the website for a while, we came to an important realization:

Our website is primarily a business card.

  • It isn’t running a membership platform.
  • It isn’t hosting client portals.
  • It isn’t processing thousands of transactions every day.

Its main purpose is simple: it gives prospective clients a place to learn about our services and send us an enquiry.

So naturally, we started asking ourselves a question:

Do we really need to spend $9.99 every month on that?

Let’s do the maths together.

  • $9.99 × 12 months × 4 years = $479.52
  • Add 16% VAT = $556.24
  • At an exchange rate of USD 1 = KES 130.00, that’s approximately KES 72,311.62.

Now, for some people, KES 72,000 is pocket change. And if that’s you, I GENUINELY love that for you.

But for many entrepreneurs, startups, freelancers, and small businesses in Kenya, that’s money that could be invested elsewhere: advertising, software, better equipment, or simply improving cash flow.

That realization sent us looking for a more cost-effective “home” for our WordPress website.

After comparing different hosting providers, we eventually moved to one of the options on this list, which shall not be disclosed because this is not an affiliate marketing blog. That journey is what inspired this article. You’re welcome :).

Cheapest Hosting For WordPress Websites In Kenya: Is It Really Worth Paying More?

Before we dive into the list, one quick housekeeping note.

This article is about the cheapest places to host a WordPress website; not necessarily the best.

Those are two very different conversations.

Some providers on this list may not have the fastest servers, the most premium support, or every feature imaginable. But if your goal is to get your WordPress website online while keeping your monthly expenses as low as possible, these hosting providers deserve your consideration.

With that out of the way, let’s get into it.

Pro Tip

Pay close attention to the renewal fee. You don’t want to find yourself in a situation where, after the cheap “honeymoon” phase ends, you can no longer afford to have your WordPress website hosted there. Because then you’ll have to migrate your website again. And migrating a website is tedious and annoying (ask me how I know). So with that said, find an alternative whose renewal fee is reasonable.

Remember, the renewal fee is where these hosting companies recoup their “generosity”, so pay close attention.

Final Thoughts

It’s worth mentioning that the hosting providers in this article are aimed at businesses whose websites serve a relatively straightforward purpose.

If your website mainly acts as a place where prospective customers can learn about your business and submit an enquiry, there’s a good chance you don’t need enterprise-level hosting, and you probably don’t need to pay enterprise-level prices either.

On the other hand, if your website hosts customer accounts, powers an online store with significant traffic, runs membership functionality, or supports other resource-intensive features, it’s worth investing a little more time into researching the hosting solution that’s best suited to your specific requirements.

For everyone else simply looking for an affordable place to park their WordPress website, we hope this guide has saved you both time and money.
