After waiting for three long years, we are finally, FINALLY able to migrate our domain from .co to .com.
This is one thing that no one would have thought would even be an issue when starting a business, but here we are.
A bit of back story to explain why we are just now migrating our domain…
Why did Sanna Digital Marketing Migrate Their Domain?
It should go without saying that MOST, if not all, businesses strive to operate on the .com domain, but when we were registering Sanna Digital Marketing’s domain on December 28th, 2022, someone had bought the .com domain, so we settled for the next best thing.
In fact, because of this, I took a few days to think about what I would do next and ended up registering the .co domain on January 1st, 2023.
There was a scheme going on back then where people would buy the .com domain when businesses register and use that as an opportunity to milk them for money.
Back then, they were asking us for $1,500.00, and as you can imagine, as a broke, freshly fired junior ex-employee, they might as well have been asking me for a $1 million, so I took the L and settled for the .co domain :(.
Well, wouldn’t you know it, three to four years later I bought it back for just $9.99 on May 28th, 2026, and couldn’t be happier because a lot of our patrons were searching for us on the .com domain; now they can finally find us :).
A Brief History
This is a great opportunity for us to share the Sanna Digital Marketing lore of how we came to be and segway into what plans we have for our esteemed patrons.
Sanna Digital Marketing was client-founded. Lord knows I don’t have a sales bone in my body, even now, three years later (sigh of disappointment).
I unceremoniously got fired from the agency I was working in at the time, and my clients were like, “ok, great, if you’re leaving, then so are we”.
So there I was, freshly fired, never having thought of entrepreneurship a day in my life; I decided to register a business to make things easier for all of us.
Where We Started as an Agency
Back then, we started as a digital marketing agency. As a Digital Marketing Executive, what they now call a Growth Marketer, the business was a direct extension of my services for my clients (still is today).
I offered everything from social media management to performance marketing, to web design, to analytics, and email marketing.
Why Didn’t I Move the Clients Into Another Agency??
Simple.
The reasons they left a seemingly established agency to follow a 26-year-old Digital Marketing Executive into oblivion were still VERY fresh in my mind.
This is what fueled my decision to register a business and service them autonomously, and why I didn’t simply send them to another agency.
Moreover, I was PASSIONATE about my clients’ businesses. I was invested as a stakeholder and was doing my best to make sure they succeeded (this devotion is likely the main reason they followed me).
What Lies Ahead For Sanna Digital Marketing?
What lies ahead we can’t tell for certain because of AI and a million other things outside of our control.
What we are doing, however, is pivoting our services to match what businesses need today, which has shifted dramatically from what they needed just three short years ago.
But such is the nature of digital marketing.
Before, we were a social media marketing agency, but today and henceforth, we are a revenue growth agency.

Final Thoughts
While building this business alone has been a challenge with many ups and downs and many thoughts of quitting, I’m glad that we are still here.
